Florida’s Great Northwest (FGNW) concluded its annual ‘Beyond Our Beaches’ Site Selector Mission last week, welcoming a group of nationally-recognized site consultants and key stakeholders from FloridaCommerce to Port St. Joe for a multi-day experience designed to showcase Northwest Florida’s strategic business advantages and investment-ready communities. This focus is to enhance economic development efforts in the 13 counties in the Florida panhandle.
During the forum, site selectors and FloridaCommerce representatives toured key locations in Gulf County, such as Gulf Coast State College’s Gulf/Franklin Center and Eastern Shipbuilding Group, joined roundtable discussions with local economic development stakeholders, and gained insights into the region’s flourishing industries, skilled workforce, and business-friendly climate.
“There’s a clear long-term vision for growth here. Northwest Florida is positioning itself as a serious player for companies looking to expand or relocate,” said Brian Corde, a Managing Partner with Atlas Insight, LLC.
This year’s Site Selector Mission was held in conjunction with the Blast on the Bay Music Festival, where attendees were invited to concerts and community events. This notable local element gave the site selectors and FGNW guests an authentic experience of the region’s quality of life, vibrant communities, and welcoming atmosphere.
“This annual event that is rotated throughout our region provides a unique opportunity to tell and demonstrate why Northwest Florida is primed for growth,” said Jennifer Conoley, President & CEO of Florida’s Great Northwest. “The overwhelmingly positive response from the site selectors underscores the strong potential for forging new partnerships and driving future growth.”
This event represents a vital component of FGNW’s comprehensive strategy to significantly elevate the region’s profile within the highly competitive national site selection arena. Made possible through the generous support of key partners, including Duke Energy, Florida Power & Light, PowerSouth, this initiative showcases Northwest Florida’s unique advantages and growth potential. With their support, FGNW aims to attract high-impact, sustainable investments that drive economic development, create quality jobs, and foster long-term prosperity throughout the region.
